NPORS PLANT MOVERS TRAINING

If you have non-operational staff—like engineers or fitters—who need to move plant or attachments, the NPORS Plant Mover course is ideal.

This recognised qualification covers the essentials of safe plant movement, including:

> Industry best practices

> Safety responsibilities

> Correct machine handling

> Pre-operational checks

It’s a simple way to build competency, confidence, and compliance—making sure the job gets done safely and correctly.

STAY COVERED, STAY SAFE

If an incident happens, the first question is always: was the person trained?

Training isn’t just a box to tick—it’s your first line of defence. Without it, you could find yourself standing in front of the person in the curly wig (yes, the judge), explaining why someone was moving machinery without the right qualifications.

It’s not worth the risk—and it’s easily avoided.

We have a range of Civils and Rail equipment on our site in Ripley, and yes—NPORS will cover Rail too. That’s the beauty. Need to move RRVs in the yard? No problem.

It’s a short, cost-effective course that makes a big difference. If you haven’t considered it before, now’s the time.

NVQS AT THE DOZER TRAINER

At The Dozer Trainer, we specialise in NVQ’s for Plant and Lifting Operations across both the Construction and Rail sector. Our NVQ’s are accredited by Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and allow Operators to progress from a TRAINED status “red card” to a COMPETENT status “blue card”.

NVQ’s can be used throughout your career and can be taken to all employers to demonstrate knowledge, credibility, competency and skill. It also demonstrates ability to work to the recognised industry standards such as CPCS and Sentinel.

We offer assessment and certification throughout the Midlands and Nationwide. Our assessors are time-served operators in both the Construction and Rail industry with proven backgrounds and remain operational to ensure they support newly qualified operators as best as possible.

HOW ARE NVQS ACHIEVED?

NVQs work by testing your abilities in the workplace and to complete an NVQ you need to prove that you can do certain work-related tasks.

They can be assessed in a combination of ways:

> By portfolio – you build up evidence of what you’ve done at work;

> and by observation – an assessor watches you work and checks that you can do the tasks.

The system is right for candidates who already have skills and want to increase them, but also for those who are starting from the beginning.

Did you know that we offer intermediate and advanced training days at our work site that contribute towards your NVQ portfolio, whilst addressing any unit/skills gaps?
