Rear Tipping Truck (ADT) – NPORS
Rear Tipping Truck (ADT) - NPORS
N205

Rear tipping dumpers are essential for transporting bulk materials like soil, gravel, and construction waste across sites. While they may appear simple to operate, their unique design and handling characteristics require specific training to ensure safe, effective use—particularly compared to front-tipping or rigid-frame dumpers.

This NPORS-accredited N205 course is designed to provide operators with the knowledge and practical ability to operate rear tipping dump trucks safely and in accordance with best practice. It also helps eliminate unsafe habits that may have developed over time.

What You’ll Learn:

Training combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practical exercises. Learners will use actual equipment in simulated work environments to reinforce key safety procedures and operating techniques.

  • Operator responsibilities and site safety requirements
  • Relevant health & safety legislation for plant machinery
  • Understanding rear tipping dumper components and their functions
  • Using manufacturer guidance and operator manuals correctly
  • Daily safety checks and reporting procedures
  • Starting, operating, and stopping the dumper safely
  • Manoeuvring over various terrain with and without loads
  • Loading and unloading safely and efficiently
  • Shutdown, parking, and post-operation protocols
Assessment & Certification:

Learners are assessed through a practical test and a theory-based questionnaire. Successful participants will receive either:

  • NPORS/CSCS Trained Operator Card – valid for 2 years (upgradeable upon achieving the relevant NVQ)
  • NPORS Traditional Operator Card – valid for 3 or 5 years depending on employer or sector preference
