By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the functions of the main components, controls, and gauges of a Forward Tipping Dumper
  • Read and apply information from the operator’s manual and relevant legislation
  • Perform pre-use, running, and shutdown checks following manufacturer guidance and legal requirements
  • Prepare the dumper for both road and site travel, operating safely over varied terrains and gradients, loaded and unloaded
  • Manoeuvre confidently in forward and reverse, including within confined spaces
  • Correctly position the dumper to receive, discharge, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely

Training Delivery and Assessment

Training is delivered through a balanced mix of classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises. Citrus’s experienced, accredited trainers ensure each delegate receives clear, practical guidance.

Assessment involves:

  • A practical observation to evaluate machine operation
  • A written theoretical test

Successful learners receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card, valid for two years.

Who is this course for?

This CPCS Forward Tipping Dumper (A09) course is intended for novice plant operators seeking both practical and theoretical training. Delegates should ideally have some familiarity with dumper operations, though it is not mandatory. Citrus also offers assessment-only and refresher options for experienced operators.

Pre-Requisites
  • Learners must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for Operatives within two years of the CPCS test date
  • Learners must be 18 years or older
  • Any medical conditions, medications, or additional support needs that could impact training participation must be disclosed in advance
Course Length
  • Novice: 4 days (max 2 learners)
  • Intermediate: 2 days (max 2 learners)
